Seven decades of gracious hospitality on the shores of the legendary Dal Lake
Founded in 1953 by a distinguished consortium of Kashmiri scholars, physicians, and civic leaders, Jai Club has grown from an intimate gathering place for the valley's intelligentsia into one of North India's most venerated private members clubs. Our original estate with its signature arched verandas and chinar-lined lawns stands as a living monument to the Golden Age of Kashmiri culture.
Spanning 5.8 acres along the Boulevard Road facing Dal Lake, the club today encompasses seven dining venues, a championship aquatics centre, curated heritage library, and four event halls capable of accommodating the region's most significant celebrations. Our 3,100-strong membership draws from surgeons, judges, architects, artists, educators, and the leading business families of the Kashmir Valley.
Where once scholars and poets gathered beneath the ancient chinars, today our members bring the same spirit of conversation, culture, and community that has defined this club for seven decades.

The Chinar Ballroom and cascading garden lawns provide one of the most sought-after wedding settings in Jammu and Kashmir. Our wedding bureau offers end-to-end coordination including Kashmiri floral decor, traditional Wazwan banquets, live classical musicians, and customised lighting design.
Jai Club is the founding patron of the annual Kashmir Literary Festival, three days each October when the valley's finest authors, poets, historians, and thinkers gather beneath the chinar trees for readings, panels, and cultural conversation. Members enjoy priority access and dedicated seating throughout the festival.
Three fully equipped conference suites, high-speed fibre connectivity, professional AV systems, and dedicated breakout rooms make Jai Club the premier venue for business gatherings in Srinagar. Our corporate services team handles catering, accommodation referrals, and bespoke event programmes.
Throughout the year, Jai Club hosts classical Sufi nights, Hindustani vocal concerts, traditional Rouf dance performances, and exhibitions of contemporary Kashmiri art and craft. These evenings celebrate the living culture of the valley and offer members a unique platform for creative engagement.
Three membership categories, each offering full access to the estate and a community that has defined Kashmiri social life for seven decades.
My family has held a Jai Club membership for three generations. It is more than a club, it is the living room of Srinagar's cultural life. The Literary Festival each October is worth the membership alone, and the Wazwan ceremonies are unlike anything else in the valley.
We held our daughter's wedding in the Chinar Ballroom last spring, and I still receive calls from guests saying they have never attended anything quite like it. The heritage setting, the seamless coordination, the quality of the Wazwan. Jai Club delivered on every single promise made.
I have taken the morning swim at Jai Club for twelve years now. The 60-metre pool facing the Zabarwan range at sunrise is one of the finest sights I know in India. The club balances modernity and tradition better than any institution I have experienced in this country.
We welcome enquiries for dining reservations, membership applications, event bookings, and private tours of our estate. Our concierge team is available every day from 9 in the morning until 10 in the evening.
